Happy Birthday to Fazer! Yay! Anyways, I got myself a birthday present since no one else gave me shit. It's a book on "Advanced PHP Programming". It's indeed a kick-ass book. More information can be found here.

Bye.

Internship!

Yay! So I guess someone finally noticed my 'talents' and got me an internship working for a magazine company known as Campus X . I guess my duty would be acting as a Web Applications Developer. This would really kick ass if I am employed till August. Since after that, I hope to be attending a good University. I think their Forums are filled with various active members. Which is cool I guess.
Blog Update : If you have been paying close attention to my blog, you would've noticed there haven't been any updates lately. As a result, I decided to finally make one. Nothing much has changed, except since my last blog, I got another and better internship (make that way better) than my previous one. I have the same type job working as a Jr. PHP/MySQL Developer for an Internet advertising company known as AzoogleAds . Although the only thing which sucks about my job is the long commute. Takes around 1.5 hours for me to get there by bus. On top of other good news, I finally got into U of Waterloo. Woooh! I just hope I can stay there with a decent enough average to remain in the Co-op program and have a decent enough financial backbone. Hope that OSAP doesn't screw me up. Hopefully, I can recover for my lazyness and apply to be a Resident Computer Consultant. Would also look good on my resume. I have been using my trust Thinkpad 600E for a while and I think its ti...
Geocoding Addresses with Ruby and Google Maps : One of my new found interests has to be Ruby. A neat language that borrows ideas both from Perl and Python (one of my favourite languages). As a result, I decided to hack out a little script that takes an argumet from the command line as an address and spits out the latitude and longitude. This is done by sending the query to Google Maps url which then returns an XML embedded in Javascript ( I don't know why Google does this). You can then parse out the points within the XML. The accuracy from my experience is also very decent. Anyways, enough talk. Here's the link to the code. Code Example: fazer@laptop$ ruby latlong.rb '140 allstate parkway markham on' 43.855359 -79.368847
